Syncing Images and Videos with Voice Blocks

This article outlines the tools and functionalities that help you create time-synced voiceover videos.

Before diving into the synchronization of blocks, it’s essential to understand their functionality within the Timeline. This knowledge will enable more effective syncing between blocks.

Timeline Blocks

When you click on a block in the Timeline, a purple slider appears. This allows you to extend or trim your blocks.

If your Timeline is zoomed out, you will not see the slider. To make it accessible, zoom into your Timeline by more than 50-60%.

Here’s a tutorial showing how Timeline Zooming helps you arrange and align your video and voice blocks.

It works differently for voice, image, and video blocks:

  • Voice Blocks
    • By default, voice blocks will be the same length as the length of their generated audio.
    • The purple block slider is always available on the right of the block. This is because the block duration cannot be reduced or trimmed from the Timeline.
    • If you wish to reduce the length of the block, increase the speed of the block, or reduce the text length.

  • Image Blocks
    • The slider on the right of the image blocks can be trimmed or extended to the length you choose.

  • Video Blocks
    • Video blocks have two sliders: one to the right and one to the left.
    • These sliders allow you to trim the video from the beginning or the end.
    • Video blocks cannot be extended beyond their length. Instead, you can duplicate the video and trim the video blocks so that your desired frame can be extended longer.

  • Music Blocks

Music blocks work similarly to video blocks: they can be trimmed at the beginning and end but cannot be extended.

Syncing Voice, Image, and Video Blocks

  1. Increase the zoom level of your Timeline to achieve more precise alignment between your blocks.
  2. Extend your block or add pauses in your voice block to sync the voice and video/image. This is particularly helpful when you’d like your voiceover to be played after a specific duration. Extending the block is recommended if you want a longer duration of silence, and adding pauses is recommended when it’s for shorter durations and at specific points.
  3. To decrease the length of your audio block, increase the speed.
  4. For projects that incorporate image blocks, you can effortlessly adjust the timing by either extending or shortening the duration of the image block as needed.
  5. To prolong the display of a specific frame in your video, you can create a duplicate of the video block and then trim it accordingly.
